I fear where it is going wrong is not education, but the fact the masses are being misled by biased news papers and tv stations essential to have favorable coverage from for politicians to win elections. Despite most MPs backed Sunak to replace Boris Johnson, because the Daily Mail so solidly backed Truss, she won the majority of the votes of the Tory party membership. A tragedy for Britain, because her disasterous Mini-budget seriously harmed the UK economy with hiked inflation and interest rates. Education is only helpful for those people who have education. Thousands of Brits don't understand enough political ideology, economy, law or foreign policy to know what is the best option. In their mind a country outside the EU is in better place to restrict immigration cause it has control of it's borders, and is not obligated to allow in citizens from the EU's many countries. They are unaware of that outside of the EU the Dublin accord - allowing EU countries to return asylum seekers to the EU country they first arrived in - doesn't apply. The UK no longer being an EU member the country have to handle every immigrant themselves, But because the UK has focused more on dealing with EU workers being returned after Brexit, than processing asylum applications. The system is clogged up. Asylum Seekers spend years waiting to hear if they will be granted asylum - meaning they are safe from whatever they fled from during that time. Something which encourages more people to come to Britain, since they can stay here for a long time before those without valid reason for protection eventually will be turned down and sent out. By focusing more on processing applications, invalid asylum claims could be identified quicker, and sent out sooner. Making the UK less appealing for asylum seekers with invalid claims, reducing such immigration and making human trafficking less lucrative, and with a greater risk of getting caught. Unfortunately many people are incapable of thinking that far ahead. And therefore like slogans like stop the boats and Rwanda deterrence. Despite they are just words. So far the number of both boats and immigrants using an illegal route are up. And the idea that the second choice Rwanda will deter people from hoping for first prize the UK, is disproven by how many who plays the National Lottery hoping to win big. People fleeing from war, political proeecution and torture, famine and more will have an improved quality of life, whether it be in the UK or Rwanda. And invalid claim seekers can not be stopped returning to their own country. Truth of the matter is that immigration cannot be stopped with laws. There are only two types of immigration. Controlled legal immigration, or out of control illegal one.

I went to Belgrade to watch the Serbia vs Wales match a few years ago. All us Welsh fans were in our own enclosure supporting our team and then all of a sudden the Serbian clowns in the next enclosure started throwing fireworks into our end and one of our supporters got hit by a f'ing javelin (how the hell did they manage to smuggle that in?) Anyway, after that we had to wait an hour and a half in the stadium after the final whistle and when we finally got out, the streets were lined with hundreds of riot police for at least a mile from the stadium. I know that's not all their fans, but their idiot hooligans are the reason they keep getting fined and stadium bans from UEFA. Absolute helmets, but we got a really good draw out of the game and the Serbs in general were really nice people. By the way, some of the comments on here really don't get football at all. It's way more than what happens on the pitch.

There isn’t any practical way to eliminate knife crime by legislation or technology. Increased funding for mental health care might help more. Does it matter where the knife that is used to commit a violent assault might have originally been purchased? Microchipping knives will only drive up the cost of cutlery to no purpose. Government can’t very well restrict knife usage. Unless a universal all-porridge diet is envisioned.

I grew up when local industry closed their doors as we left school, we were left on the scrapheap of misery called the dole. Labour promised so much and delivered so little, then the Tories came along and we were demonised and sanctioned, even the sick and disabled were hounded to their grave. How do you heal this sceptred isle?

The country should be run by smart and moral people. Lacking one of those qualities means you are unsuitable for the job. Lacking both means you are probably a Tory minister.
